Job summary

Douglas County Government (CO) is seeking a position responsible for interviewing felony and misdemeanor defendants at the Douglas County Detention Center to establish residence, family ties, employment, and past criminal history to aid District/County courts in setting appropriate bail bonds.

The role includes reviewing arrest documents, entering data in multiple databases, scoring risk assessments, and coordinating after-hours GPS-related tasks with legal and law enforcement stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social science or related field preferred.
• One year of experience in the criminal justice system or related experience is required or may be substituted by education.

Responsibilities

• Interview defendants in the Douglas County Detention Center to establish residence, ties, employment and history for bail suitability.
• Enter defendant information into the division's database to create bond reports and into NCIC/CCIC and other systems for criminal history checks.
• Score risk assessments accurately and file bond reports with the court.
• Respond to GPS issues after hours and coordinate with judges, district attorney and law enforcement as needed.
• Install GPS monitoring devices and perform routine administrative tasks.
