Job summary

Douglas County Government's Community Justice Service is seeking a staff member to handle interviewing, caseload management, intake placement, and agency coordination for Pretrial Release, In-home Detention, Useful Public Service, and the Douglas County Multiple Offender program.

You will collaborate with the courts, attorneys, probation offices and community providers to serve pretrial, adjudicated, and convicted clients across programs.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience in criminal justice, case management or pretrial work preferred.
• Education and experience may be combined to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise defendants ordered to Pretrial Release to ensure court appearance and compliance.
• Interview felony and misdemeanor defendants to verify residence, ties, and history.
• Obtain and verify defendant information from NCIC/CCIC and Colorado CJIS systems.
• Coordinate electronic monitoring referrals from courts, probation and agencies.
• Maintain caseloads for in-home detention and for the Douglas County MOP program.
• Place defendants in nonprofit agencies for community service hours and monitor progress.
• Prepare written reports for courts and attend hearings to clarify information.
• Enter data, generate monthly statistics, and assist with quarterly/annual reports.
