Job summary

Charleston County Government is seeking a Pretrial Analyst to perform professional investigative work on rotating shifts, seven days a week, to provide timely information to the criminal courts for release or detention decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, strong Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability to obtain NCIC clearance; Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Public Administration, or related field.
• Two or more years of Criminal Justice, Case Management or Investigative experience, or equivalent combination.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and data management tasks.
• Must be able to obtain NCIC inquiry certification.

Responsibilities

• Review defendants’ rights and verify information for pretrial decisions.
• Gather and analyze data to produce a concise summary for judges.
• Prepare quality reports to assist in release or detention decisions.
