Job summary

Vigo County is seeking a Screening Analyst in the Court Administration's Pretrial Services Division. The incumbent assesses and screens arrested individuals, making determinations and recommendations to the Court.

Responsibilities include interviewing prospective participants, conducting risk assessments, preparing release documents, and monitoring participants. Strong communication and data-reporting skills are required in a collaborative, public-service environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social service, psychology or related field.
• Knowledge of evidence-based principles and practices.
• Ability to document accurately and prepare reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Determines eligibility for pretrial program participation by interviewing prospective participants and collecting relevant information.
• Conducts risk assessments and background investigations as directed by the Court.
• Prepares release documents, bail conditions, and orders; explains conditions to defendants and attorneys.
• Monitors participants and prepares court-ready summaries with release recommendations.
• Maintains current computer records, compiles data, and reports statistics while supporting other departments as needed.
