Job summary

Sarasota County Government seeks a Pretrial Services Caseworker to supervise individuals on pretrial release and ensure compliance with court conditions in a 24/7 operation. You will maintain case records, coordinate with courts and law enforcement, and connect clients to community resources.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, of FDLE/NCIC certification within six months, and a Florida driver’s license. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, counseling, social work, psychology, sociology, behavioral science, or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the required college degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Must obtain FDLE FCIC/NCIC certification within six months of appointment.
• Valid Florida driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise individuals on pretrial release and monitor compliance with court-ordered conditions.
• Maintain regular contact with clients through in-person meetings, phone calls, and remote check-ins.
• Connect clients with community resources and coordinate with law enforcement and courts.
• Prepare and process supervision-related documentation including case notes and reports.
• Maintain accurate case files and data entry in accordance with recordkeeping requirements.
• Assist with client drug screening, investigation reports, and statistics.
• Attend court hearings and testify regarding client compliance when required.
• Support departmental operations by training staff and mentoring new employees.
