Job summary

Knife River Prestress is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician to support production quality and PCI compliance within our prestressed concrete manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will independently perform concrete testing, dimensional inspections, product documentation, and specification verification with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in precast or prestressed concrete manufacturing or construction quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Proficient in documenting inspection data and reporting results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Must be able to lift material samples up to 75 lbs and work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing daily to support concrete production - slump, air, unit weight, slump flow, segregation, compressive strength, moisture.
• Inspect prestressed concrete products against fabrication drawings before, during and after casting per tolerances.
• Verify reinforcing steel placement, strand patterns, inserts, embeds, and lifting hardware against shop drawings.
• Perform dimensional inspections and verify PCI and project tolerances.
• Document product status by recording and summarizing preliminary, in-process and finished inspection data.
• Identify and report non-conforming products or processes.
• Work with production personnel to resolve quality concerns and maintain product conformance.
• Ensure products are manufactured to meet specifications.
• Support plant safety initiatives and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.
