Job summary

The Seattle Times is seeking a self-starting Pressroom Associate (Pressroom General Worker) to help maintain press efficiency by organizing printed items as they come off the press. You will assist Press Operators and follow safety protocols to streamline the print operation from start to finish. Typical schedule may include shifts from 4:30 p.m.

- 1:00 a.m. A two-part retention bonus is offered, plus overtime to support production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least one year in warehouse/industrial work preferred.
• Basic proficiency in English, both written and oral.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Take daily direction from Press Lead Operator for daily instructions.
• Prepare press area by cleaning and organizing space before and after shifts.
• Read and familiarize yourself with the work order.
• Verify proper configuration and organization of printed items for delivery.
• Stack product neatly on pallets for removal to other areas.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
