Job summary

MCC Label in North Carolina is seeking a Press Utility to support Press Operators with setup, make-ready and clean-up within scheduled timeframes.

This role requires ability to read job tickets, read a ruler, and pass eye and color tests; it also involves cleaning ink pans, stripping plates, moving dies, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced plant. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (pass a ruler test)
• Ability to pass an eye test (20/20)
• Ability to differentiate colors (pass a color test)
• Ability to input data in the computer
• Ability to work in a team with urgency for on-time completion
• Self-motivated with focus and instruction following
• Ability to stand and move around press area for long periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Assertive and solution-focused
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Assists in external make-ready operations for changeover between label jobs
• Assists in external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strips plates from cylinders
• Locates dies to and from press
• May work with press operator to view labels using a strobe light
• Comply with customer MCC quality assurance specifications
• May complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace
• Work overtime when needed and as assigned
• Related duties as assigned
