Job summary

MCC, a global leader in premium labels, is seeking a Press Utility to support the press team in setup, make-ready and cleanup within scheduled timeframes.

The ideal candidate will read job tickets, operate in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 40 lbs, and collaborate with operators to ensure on-time changeovers. Print shop experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (pass ruler test).
• Ability to pass an eye test for 20/20 vision.
• Ability to differentiate colors (color test).
• Ability to input data in the computer.
• Team environment with a sense of urgency for on-time completion.
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Assertive and solution-focused.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Attains and maintains defined job objectives related to planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes.
• Assist in external make-ready operations for label changes.
• Assist in external clean-up after changeover.
• Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strip plates from cylinders.
• Locate dies to and from press.
• May work with press operator to view labels with a strobe light.
• Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC.
• May complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace.
• Work overtime when needed and as assigned.
• Related duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Press Utility to join our team. The Press Utility is responsible for assisting the Press Operators as directed to perform press setup, make-ready, and clean-up activities within a defined time frame.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
