Job summary

Polytainers Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator / Press Operator in the Printing Department to operate a printing press and handle packing/unpacking rigid plastic containers.

You will report to the Printing Shift Supervisor and contribute to efficient press runs and product quality in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Printing Shift Supervisor, the role requires attention to safety, quality checks, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Tear Down of Printing Presses: Perform job kit verification; Line Clearance; Replace plates; Wash and prepare colour heads.
• Run All Lid and Base Presses: Includes all six and eight colour presses; Pack / Unpack boxes according to customer requirements; Take trending tray samples; Apply labels and stamp every box without pre-labeling; Cover other machines for lunch and breaks.
• Monitor Product Quality: Visually inspects product at the packing station; Maintain trending tray.
• Perform Product Control Duties: Update job cards; Enter information on Daily Machine Scheduling and Attainment Board (White Board).
• Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures: Never compromise safety; Treat fellow Team Members with honesty, respect and dignity; Meet standards of conduct; Adhere to 5S, HACCP and Health and Safety rules.
