Job summary

Roastar is seeking a full-time 3rd shift Press Operator to run our press equipment and support packaging operations. The role focuses on setting up, running, and maintaining press equipment while ensuring product quality through measurement and testing of materials and finished bags/pouches.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic math and measurement skills, and a can-do attitude for teamwork and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with printing processes and color theory is a plus.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Ability to read/interpret documents and use measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Press Operator is responsible for running press equipment. This includes set up & run, preventative maintenance activities, along with mechanical, and process troubleshooting issues. Additionally, a Press Operator measures and inspects raw materials & printed film rolls to ensure they meet quality standards before they are made into bags/pouches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate digital press & laminating equipment following process and machine specifications.
• Troubleshoot and adjust equipment, as needed.
• Measure and inspect raw material and printed film rolls to meet quality standards.
• Perform quality tests and document results.
• Complete job paperwork.
• Complete preventative maintenance activities on equipment; includes changing consumables.
• Communicate with team members in a respectful, supportive manner.
• Follow production schedule and communicate when issues arise.
• Support team members through continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in team discussions to resolve issues and highlight opportunities.
• Operate secondary converting & packaging equipment as needed.
• Participate in continued learning opportunities.
• Follow all Company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform general housekeeping to keep work areas clean and organized.
• Follow all Company policies, rules, and regulations.
• Act as a professional representative of Roastar, Inc. at all times.

Education, Experience, Skills (Licensure & Certifications)

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• Experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Familiarity with printing processes, experience with 4-color process printing, and Adobe creative suite experience (a plus).
• Knowledge of color theory and print quality (a plus).
• Strong mechanical & troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to learn and be a supportive team member.
• Professionalism in the workplace.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Good math and measurement skills – able to learn how to use measurement equipment
• Must be detail-oriented and accurate; able to read/interpret documents
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload; meeting deadlines
