This is a 3rd shift position, 11pm - 7am (and eligible for shift differential) for an EXPERIENCED Press Operator.

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a Komori press, including large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements ranging from hairline to critical.
• Review job specifications to determine the press setup according to the imposition of the run (sheet-wise or work and turn).
• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated, such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, and checking for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register, etc.
• Makes necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Requires comprehensive knowledge of techniques, procedures, materials, specifications, equipment, and safety requirements to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain equipment to produce single-, two-, and/or multi-color work to critical tolerances.
• Skill in complex manipulations and mechanical procedures to perform tasks such as setup, major adjustments, routine maintenance, and minor repairs of equipment to produce multi-color work.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, settings, and materials needed to run the job successfully.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $24 - $28 / hour. Starting pay decisions are based on relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, performance, shift, location, and other business needs. Roles typically follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. In addition to hourly pay, total compensation may include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
