Job summary

MCC Label is hiring a Press Operator in Chesapeake, VA for the 3rd shift. You will operate the printing press to produce labels per customer specifications, perform make-readies, and conduct daily quality and safety checks to uphold quality and efficiency on the line.

The role requires 1+ years of press operator experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience as a printing press operator or equivalent training.
• Ability to stand, use hands, reach with arms and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk frequently and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant and corporate safety rules and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area through daily housekeeping.
• Perform make-readies per job ticket and product specs.
• Conduct press-side quality checks and ensure product specifications are met.
• Operate the press to meet customer specs while minimizing waste.
• Maintain consistent quality during production and monitor color, registration, and ink adhesion.
• Follow procedures and quality measurements per BRC standards.
• Complete press make-readies efficiently and perform equipment maintenance.
• Clean plates, cylinders, ink pans and lubricate the press; input material usage/time into GlobeTek.

ThePress Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

• OurPrintingPress Operators must adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Completes make-readyin accordance withthe Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, andaniloxrollers are used.
• Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Completes all press-side quality checks.
• Operates the press to produce the product in accordance with customer specifications, maintaining quality, minimizing waste, and optimizing press efficiency.
• Maintains consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks include: copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks.
• Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
• Completes press make-readies efficiently.
• Completes all required equipment maintenance duties.
• Cleans plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
• Inputs all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience as a printing press operator and/or training.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally, an employee must climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
