Job summary

MCC in Chesapeake, VA is hiring a Press Operator for the 3rd shift to manufacture printed labels while monitoring quality and press conditions.

You will follow safety rules, perform make-ready, run presses to customer specs, and complete quality checks; benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k), plus paid holidays and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years as a printing press operator experience and/or training.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Reports safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment with daily housekeeping.
• Completes make-ready per Job Ticket and Product Specification documents for correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers.
• Performs all required quality checks related to product specs, visuals, and functional checks; completes press-side quality checks.
• Operates press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency.
• Maintains consistent quality during the production run; performs critical quality checks (copy, color, registration, ink adhesion).
• Follows procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements per BRC standard.
• Completes press makeready efficiently.
• Completes all related equipment maintenance duties.
• Cleans plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
• Inputs all required information into the Radius system for material usage and time.

• OurPrintingPress Operators must adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
