SATO America, LLC is hiring a detail-oriented 2nd Shift Press Operator in Charlotte, NC. This full-time, permanent role requires operating and setting up flexographic presses, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring production aligns with safety, quality, and KPI goals.

Minimum education is an AA degree or equivalent, with 1–3 years of related experience preferred. Must read, write, and speak English; strong mechanical aptitude and color discrimination are essential.

SATO America is seeking a detail-orientated, service-focused, 2nd Shift Press Operator. This is a full time, permanent position at SATO.

Location: Charlotte, NC, 28273, United States

Compensation: Dependent on experience. Around $28/hour plus benefits

SUMMARY:

As 2nd shift press operator, you will perform complex printing jobs, including set-up and troubleshooting for each job. The press operator will produce products in a highly efficient manner in alignment with business goals and KPI's to the highest possible quality standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

** Ability to work in a 2nd Shift role is required for this role **

• Technical Duties:
  • Operate, set-up, and trouble shoot flexographic printing presses and auxiliary equipment, all in accordance with production standards and productivity goals.
  • Including: utilization of product specs (copy card), changing plates, cylinders, and dies.
• Maintain machines by performing basic maintenance including lubricants, replace minor parts, and requests major maintenance when necessary.
• Maintain work area utilizing 5S methods.
• Report machine and equipment malfunctions immediately to the group leader, maintenance and/or supervisor.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Cross-train and work multiple press lines and equipment as needed.
• Quality Control: Follow all quality inspection plans. This involves measuring, checking, and testing various processes and product parameters. Meet established goals for material scrap and yield.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with all plant leadership and departments such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics to coordinate production activities, address technical issues, standardize processes, and optimize supply chain processes.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Support all continuous improvement initiatives as required via participation and or implementation.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Operate machines in a safe, efficient manner in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Follow and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Report any unsafe condition(s), injury, or accident immediately to immediate supervisor or other member of management.
  • Provide improvement suggestions as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by floor or plant leadership.

Education And/Or Experience

Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills And Abilities:

Ability to perform basic math functions and use a ruler is a must. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, and to follow instructions.

The ability to focus on objects, have good vision and be able to differentiate colors as determined by color blindness testing. Strong mechanical aptitude needed.
