Job summary

American Heavy Plate Solutions LLC seeks a Press Operator to perform plate pressing and quality checks in a rolling mill environment. You will verify flatness, set up presses, and record inspection data in an ERP system while following safety protocols. The role requires reading measurements, basic math, and crane operation as needed.

Weekend shifts and day shifts are available with differential pay. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to work standing for long

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and a taper gauge.
• Knowledge of job setup and material verification.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and basic computer skills.
• Willingness to operate a crane as needed.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Locate and verify material to be pressed.
• Inspect plates’ flatness using a straight edge and taper gauge.
• Set up plate accordingly on press bed using spacers blocks underneath.
• Verify the tolerance for the plate to be pressed.
• Confirm part meets the tolerance required after pressing.
• Fill out and record all inspection forms and record in ERP system.
• Operate cranes as needed.
• All duties of General Labor/Operator A as assigned.

Press and verify the flatness of plates and parts according to half standard tolerance chart. Following all safety protocols, while producing quality products that meet customer specifications

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None

General Responsibilities

• Locate and verify material to be pressed.
• Inspect plates’ flatness using a straight edge and taper gauge.
• Set up plate accordingly on press bed using spacers blocks underneath.
• Verify the tolerance for the plate to be pressed.
• Confirm part meets the tolerance required after pressing.
