Job summary

Cadrex Manufacturing Solutions is seeking a Press Brake Operator (Level I, II, or III) to set up and operate metal bending equipment. Multiple experience levels are available and aligned to Level I, II, or III based on skills.

You will read blueprints, perform quality inspections, and maintain a safe, efficient work area on 1st shift. Onsite Illinois location with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Learn material types (aluminum, steel, stainless).

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Perform quality inspections per documentation and control plans.
• Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and work instructions.
• Use basic measurement tools (calipers, squares).
• Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Meet attendance and efficiency standards.
• Perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Level I: Operate press brake machine under supervision (training provided).
• Level I: Follow bending sequences to form parts correctly.
• Level I: Produce consistent, repeatable parts.
• Level I: Perform basic inspections using calipers or squares.
• Level I: Learn material types.
• Level II: Set up tools, equipment, and machines based on production specs.
• Level II: Perform detailed dimensional inspections (calipers, height gauges, protractors).
• Level II: Make machine and tooling adjustments to meet specifications.
• Level II: Understand material behavior (springback, deflection, growth/shrinkage).
• Level II: Control RAM speeds and adjust forming processes.
• Level II: Complete reference sheets for complex parts.
• Level II: Troubleshoot issues and maintain quality standards.
• Level II: Work independently and maintain efficiency targets.
• Level II: Cross-train across multiple workstations.
• Level III: Calibrate press brake equipment and manage tool libraries.
• Level III: Identify bend sequences without reference sheets.
• Level III: Train and mentor employees on quality and efficiency standards.
• Level III: Lead safety initiatives and participate in team meetings.
• Level III: Coordinate maintenance needs and ensure preventative maintenance completion.
• Level III: Analyze and resolve complex production issues.
• Level III: Exceed company standards for quality and efficiency.
• Level III: Support production scheduling and communication with leadership.
