Job description

Press Brake Operator Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team to support our fabrication operations. In this role, your primary function will be to successfully program and operate two (2) press brakes to bend material to feed production. In this role, other responsibilities may include the utilization of additional fabrication machines and tools like an ironworker, shear, hand grinder, hydraulic press, or drill press. You will read cut lists and prints/technical drawings and make the adjustments for each job. You need to be able to read a tape measure and perform basic math to set the machine for each job. Applicants for this position should have one to three years of previous experience. Since you will palletize and transport finished pieces, having forklift experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets specifications from cut lists, prints, sketches, planning sheets and/or technical drawings to determine materials, setup procedures, and fabrication methods required to fabricate parts.
  • Set up and program the press brake(s), making adjustments for each job
  • Bend material using the press brake(s), keeping an eye out for any defects or issues
  • Use measurement tools to ensure accuracy
  • Pack and transport finished pieces
  • Perform simple routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Accurately complete paperwork, as required
  • Maintains equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
  • Experience operating a press brake (1-3 years preferred)
  • Forklift experience
  • Ability to communicate job related issues with supervisor, team leaders and other employees.
  • Basic math skills: Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to use simple mathematical devices, such as, calculators, measuring tapes, etc.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Attention to detail

Schedule and Perks

  • 6:00am – 4:30pm, Monday – Thursday; overtime potential as production demands
