Job description

Position: Press Brake Operator

Location: West Cleveland/Airport

1st Shift & 2nd Shift – DIRECT HIRE!!

Pay: $20 to $26 per hour + $3,000 Signing Bonus

** $2/hour shift differential for 2nd shift

PrideStaff is conducting a search for a skilled and experienced Press Brake Operator to join our client’s team. Press Brake Operators must be skilled in bending and forming (not stamping). In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines according to company guidelines using precise specifications.

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and prepare press brake machines by selecting and aligning dies in the machine ram.
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production orders to determine required dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  3. Calculate bend allowances, determine proper tonnage requirements, and select the appropriate press brake machine settings.
  4. Load and unload materials into the press brake machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning.
  5. Position and secure workpieces onto the machine bed using clamps, bolts, or other fixtures.
  6. Knowledge of using manual tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  7. Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  8. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  9. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  1. Experience with Cincinnati press brakes or Steelweld machines is ideal.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating a press brake, rolls, or other fabrication equipment.
  4. Knowledge of the fabrication process.
  5. Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  6. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to calculate dimensions, angles, and tolerances (Algebra 1 level).
  7. Familiarity with various press brake machine controls and settings.
  8. Ability to set up and operate press brake machines independently.
  9. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  10. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  11. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
  1. The position requires standing most of the time, some lifting of 25 to 50 pounds, and pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as needed.
  2. Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required and will be reimbursed if needed.
  3. The plant facility does not have air conditioning.
