Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical/technical aptitude required.
• Entry level computer skills sufficient.
• Feeder/Operator experience preferred.
• Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends.
• Able to speak, read and write English.
• Basic math skills required.
• Mechanical aptitude a plus.
• Working knowledge of a printing press required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Press – 1st Operator with running the printing press and maintaining top quality printing.
• As Press – 2nd Operator, align operations with the Finishing Department to exceed customer expectations and support company objectives.
• Assist quality by examining printing for proper color, register, and alignment per the Printing Department Control Plan.
• Troubleshoot printing issues, adjust press settings to correct problems.
• Maintain press components including water tank, ink fountain and blanket wash units.
• Prepare materials for new printing jobs during press make-readies.
• Clean the press and wash blankets, rollers, and dampening rollers.
• Remove old plates and install new plates; fill ink fountains.
• Perform duties of Press – 1st Operator or Feeder as needed to keep press running.
• Contribute to monthly preventive maintenance including cleaning and greasing.
