Job summary

Pitney Bowes is hiring a Presort Associate 1 (Dispatch Associates) in Romulus, MI. The role offers direct hire, full-time employment with a starting wage of $17 per hour and a $1.50/hour shift premium for 2nd shift.

You will be trained to prepare outgoing mail, review postages and barcodes, troubleshoot jams, and monitor mail quality. Strong reliability and teamwork are essential to meet SLAs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• The ability to be dependable and reliable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and customer service mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk most of the shift.
• Ability to work overtime and follow safety directions in English.
• Prior Pitney Bowes warehouse mail sorter experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail with correct date, postage, and barcodes.
• Communicate errors and identify bad barcodes on mail and packages.
• Troubleshoot and clear jams from sorting machinery.
• Monitor mail quality before processing and dispatch.
• Understand USPS labels, zip codes, and tray numbers for sorting.
• Follow Quality Management System procedures to ensure output quality.
• Support inbound and outbound mail/package processing.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and report issues.
• Perform additional duties as required.
