Pitney Bowes is hiring for a Presort Associate 1 in Romulus, MI. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with first shift responsibilities and a starting wage of $16 per hour.

You will review mail, ensure proper postage and barcodes, and maintain quality standards while handling outbound/inbound mail processes. The role emphasizes dependable performance, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Knowledge of the pre-sort mailing business is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk most of the shift.
• Basic English understanding to follow safety directions.
• Ability to work overtime including weekends/holidays.
• Current Pitney Bowes warehouse mail sorter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outgoing permit and metered mail with correct date, postage, and barcodes.
• Communicate errors and identify bad barcodes on mail/packages.
• Troubleshoot and clear mail piece jams from machines.
• Monitor mail quality before processing and dispatch.
• Understand USPS labels and sorting requirements.
• Ensure equipment runs properly and assist with inbound/outbound processing.
• Adhere to SLAs and promote a clean, safe work area.
