Job summary

York Space Systems seeks a dynamic President & Chief Operating Officer for Solestial LLC, onsite in Phoenix, AZ, to lead the next growth phase of a pioneering space solar energy company.

The role oversees daily operations, scales teams, and steers strategy across tech, supply chain, and partnerships with defense and commercial customers, while maintaining compliance and financial performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as a senior executive leading teams with manufacturing operations oversight.
• Experience in space/aerospace/energy deep-tech.
• Proven ability to scale technology companies from early success to maturity.
• Strong understanding of space industry economics, procurement and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience capturing new business and developing partnerships with space agencies and defense/commercial customers.
• Ability to inspire cross-functional teams in a mission-driven environment.
• Experience managing P&L, budgeting, revenue and margin accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth, expand market share, and strengthen Solestial’s brand as a premier space solar energy provider.
• Oversee daily operations and cross-functional teams to maximize productivity and scale the organization.
• Build and empower a high-performing team with a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Advance technology roadmap, reliability, and readiness while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and execute optimal supply chain strategy for Solestial.
• Guide Solestial’s technology roadmap in coordination with York SMEs.
• Oversee internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Represent Solestial as a thought leader in space tech and sustainable power systems.
• Own end-to-end P&L and drive revenue while controlling operating expenses.
• Oversee rollup financial reporting for quarterly and annual statements.
