Job summary

AYON Studio in New York, NY seeks a Preservation Architect to advance heritage conservation and restoration efforts. The role focuses on documentation, design interventions for historic properties, and coordination with regulators and leadership.

In-person at Union Square office; remote applicants will not be considered. The candidate should have architectural training with substantial preservation experience, proficiency in CAD and Revit, and strong communication skills to manage multiple

Qualifications

An understanding of historic buildings' materials and construction assemblies.
Ability to detail and specify appropriate repairs.
Experience with building envelope repairs and interior renovations.
Experience with submitting to LPC, SHPO and DOB for approvals.
Architectural licensure or progress towards ARE exams is desired.

Responsibilities

Documentation, conditions assessments and design of interventions for existing buildings.
Prepare Construction Documents for interior renovations and exterior repairs.
FISP inspection and reporting; assist with regulatory filings (LPC, DOB, SHPO, NPS).
Lead bid procurement and construction contract administration phases.
Coordinate progress with Project Manager and Principal; assist marketing and business development.
