Job summary

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York is seeking a Presentation Specialist to create visually compelling, brand-aligned PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use, with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel on Windows.

You will collaborate with legal and business teams, translate financial and legal concepts into clear graphics, and ensure documents meet the firm’s branding guidelines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of creative design support experience, preferably in law or financial services presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient PC operation.
  • Advanced PowerPoint (Expert), Excel, Adobe, Visio.
  • MS Word formatting across different software packages.
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute high-impact presentations using PowerPoint on Windows.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and maintain confidentiality.
  • Provide project status updates and adjust deliverables.
  • Translate complex data, especially financial and legal concepts, into visuals.
  • Format and edit documents per firm branding.
  • Create and revise legal documents with MS Office.
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Support flexible hours and ad hoc assignments.

Job Summary & Objectives

The Presentation Specialist is responsible for creating and visually compelling, professional, and brand-aligned PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use with advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to support the creation of polished, on-brand presentations and documents.

Shift Option
  • Monday to Friday (12:00 pm - 8:00pm)
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and execute high-impact visual presentations for internal and external clients that fully demonstrate the efficacy of a specific business offering and/or target audience, utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint, using a Windows platform
  • Liaise with internal teams throughout the creative/production process, maintain confidentiality of various forms of information from multiple sources, review data for accuracy and propose solutions
  • Provide project status updates and adjust deliverables as required
  • Translate high level, complex data with a focus on financial data and legal concepts, interpret information and convey key points through illustration or information graphics
  • Provide extensive formatting and project editing support in accordance to the Firm’s corporate branding policies and guidelines
  • Create and revise legal documents to the Firm’s specifications using the latest software and version of Microsoft Office
  • Ensure all information is accurate and instructions are carried out correctly
  • Perform ad hoc projects and assignments as assigned
  • Must be available to work flexible hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education
  • Associate’s degree or 2+ years professional production experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Microsoft Certification and Presentation Coursework preferred
Skills and Experience
  • At least 3-5 years of experience providing creative design support, with law firm and/or financial services presentation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Technically proficient in the PC environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint (Expert Level), Excel, Adobe, and Visio
  • MS Word proficiency in convert and formatting documents to/and from different software packages, create and revise documents to Firm’s specifications
  • MS Excel proficiency in creating graphics, formulas and all aspects of formatting
  • MS PowerPoint proficiency in slide presentation creation, tables, charts, including structure chart and org charts
  • Ability to provide concept development, design and execution through illustration of visual materials
  • Ability to work with complex formulas in Excel and graphics manipulation in PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality of information
  • Acute attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced and deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision
Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for chart-building and editing
Salary Information

NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
