AltaMed Health Services is seeking a Prescription Renewal Pharmacy Technician at our Centralized Prescription Renewal site in Commerce, CA 90040. The role supports pharmacists with refill authorizations, processes electronic refills, calls, faxes, and coordinates with patients, pharmacies, and insurance plans to improve medication adherence.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, CA Pharmacy Technician license, 1 year of experience, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, and a valid BLS.

• California Board of Pharmacy Technician License, and in good standing.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CA Board pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support to pharmacists at the Centralized Prescription Renewal site.
• Process refill authorizations using approved guidelines and protocols.
• Receive electronic refills, phone calls, faxes, and other communications to process requests.
• Assist in submission of medication prior authorizations and communicate with patients, pharmacies, and insurance plans.
• Collaborate with staff to promote AltaMed's pharmacy services and improve medication adherence.

Job Overview

The Prescription Renewal Pharmacy Technician provides support to the pharmacists at the Centralized Prescription Renewal site in managing the refill authorization process using approved guidelines and protocols. The Technician receives electronic refills, phone calls, faxes, and other forms of communication to process medication-related requests. The Technician assists in the submission of medication prior authorizations and communicates directly with patients, pharmacies, and insurance plans. The technician works with staff to promote AltaMed's pharmacy services to our patients to help improve medication adherence and patient outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician License, and in good standing.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CA Board pharmacy technician or related pharmacy experience is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$25.00 - $29.32 hourly
