Job summary

The Somerset Community Action Program is seeking a reliable Preschool Van Driver to safely transport preschool-aged children to and from the center, following routes, schedules, and safety regulations. A CDL is preferred but not required; candidates without a CDL may be considered if they can safely operate a passenger van and meet transportation requirements.

Qualifications

• Must pass a state and federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport preschool-aged children to and from the center and designated locations.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Ensure children are properly secured in age-appropriate safety restraints.
• Assist children with safely entering and exiting the vehicle.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment during transportation.
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and supervisors as needed.
• Keep accurate transportation records and attendance logs as required.
