Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta invites applications for a Preschool Teacher Assistant in Atlanta. Under the supervision of the Center Director and Preschool Lead Teacher, you will help plan and conduct learning experiences for children aged 6 weeks through Pre-K, supporting a safe, engaging environment.

This role requires a CDA or an eligible degree within two years, strong communication skills, and physical ability to kneel, bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Requires CDA or pending degree to be earned within two years.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize classroom space into functional areas with the lead teacher.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom for children.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors and ensure well-being.
• Assist in planning lessons and hands-on activities with the teacher.
• Assist with assessments and preparing materials for activities.
