Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a full-time Head Start Teacher Assistant to support daily classroom activities for 6 weeks through Pre-K. You will work closely with the Head Start Teacher to implement lesson plans, maintain a safe, engaging environment, and support children with diverse learning needs.

This position requires a CDA or equivalent and strong communication; it involves supervising children, documenting attendance and progress, and coordinating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires a CDA or equivalent credential for Head Start.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to implement classroom activities and manage children.

Responsibilities

• Organize classroom space into functional areas with teacher.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors during activities.
• Observe and assess children's development using screenings.
• Prepare lesson plans and materials with the teacher.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
