Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Pre-K Teacher Assistant to work with the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting learning experiences for 3- to 5-year-olds, while helping manage the daily classroom schedule and environment.

Under supervision, you will support safety, developmentally appropriate activities, family communication, and observation processes; a background check and legal work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Organize classroom space and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Provide ongoing observation and assessment of children with the teacher.
• Assist in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities.
• Follow daily schedules and support transitions between activities.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
