Job summary

Neighborhood House Association is seeking an early childhood assistant to support preschool instruction under supervision. You will help develop weekly lesson plans aligned with Head Start standards and contribute to a safe, nurturing classroom environment.

The role involves assisting with family engagement, keeping confidential records, and collaborating with the Family Service Assistant to meet family needs. Prior ECE units and first aid CPR within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Twelve (12) units of early childhood education/child development including Associate Teacher Permit.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in ECE/CD preferred.
• Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of preschool children under supervision.
• Develop weekly lesson plans aligned with Head Start standards.
• Support a safe and welcoming classroom and outdoor environment.
• Assist with family engagement and parent/teacher conferences.
• Maintain confidential child records and daily attendance logs.
• Collaborate with the Family Service Assistant to meet family needs.
