Job summary

First Learning is seeking an early childhood assistant to support a classroom environment that nurtures each child’s development. You will help with daily care, safety, and learning activities, guided by NYS regulations and the NAEYC philosophy.

Responsibilities include supervising groups, maintaining records, communicating with families, and supporting staff. A high school diploma and a commitment to children's development are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Commitment to developing children's social, emotional and cognitive skills per NAEYC guidelines.
• At least one year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Care-a-lot Child Care policies and NYS licensing regulations.
• Provide for the safety, well-being and daily care of children (diapering, toileting, feeding, rest).
• Assist in planning and implementing an age-appropriate program aligned with NAEYC.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom with learning centers and activities.
• Interact with children in a positive, respectful, and supportive manner.
