Job summary

Cadence Education is hiring a Preschool Teacher Assistant in Edgewater, NJ. Under the supervision of the School Director, you will support daily classroom activities and Cadence Education programs to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children, including those with IEPs.

You will assist with implementing curricula, building professional relationships with families, and ensuring safety and licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• Safety procedures must be followed, including allergy and Safe Sleep practices.
• Strong teamwork within a classroom environment.
• English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive and respectful classroom environment.
• Greet children and families daily and build professional relationships.
• Assist in recognizing and responding to individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavioral plans.
• Support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence-approved tools.
• Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual and report accidents/incidents accordingly.
• Assist with managing, documenting, and reporting escalated child behaviors.
• Adhere to all Cadence Education policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development, which may occur outside regular hours.
