The Jewish Community Center of Staten Island is seeking a Teacher Assistant for Extended Care to help provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for preschool children, guided by our program's educational goals. You will support daily routines, supervise children, and maintain professional communication with parents while adhering to health regulations and staff policies.

Qualifications

Must have strong communication with parents.
Be punctual, respectful, energetic, and a team player.
Experience in education or childcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support daily routine aligned with the needs of the department and children.
Provide and ensure appropriate and sensitive interaction with the children at all times.
Provide and ensure appropriate language and positive methods of disciplinary intervention as defined by staff policies.
Ensure that the Department of Health, Bureau of Day Care regulations are followed.
Maintain confidentiality of child, parent, staff.
Keep Coordinator informed of incidents relating to accidents, child’s activity, or extraordinary circumstances.
Apropriately represent the Center in all forums.
