Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Princeton, NJ seeks a Teacher Assistant Preschool to support Lead Teachers in a nurturing Montessori setting. You’ll help children explore, grow, and build independence while providing warmth, encouragement, and guidance.

This part-time role runs Monday to Friday, 12:30pm to 6:30pm. You’ll assist with lesson plans, safety, family communication, and participate in staff development and mentorship programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPR / First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs
