Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in East Windsor, NJ is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant for Preschool. Hours are 8:00am–1:00pm or 1:00pm–6:30pm, Monday to Friday. You will assist Lead Teachers to nurture children’s independence and curiosity in a warm Montessori setting.

Responsibilities include preparing a safe classroom, supporting lesson plans, maintaining student records, and communicating with families. Must love children and meet health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• A genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children.
• An understanding of health and safety guidelines.
• Capacity to multi-task and function in an ever-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.
