Job Summary

Christ the King - Preschool Teacher

Candidates should have knowledge of the principles of child growth and development to work effectively with children and communicate daily with families. Teachers will be expected to implement a child-centered daily routine, curriculum, and learning environment that encourages age-appropriate positive social interactions, active exploration/engagement in learning, and self-motivation (curiosity) to promote development across all domains for children of all abilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Understand developmental milestones for children aged 3-4 years and create play experiences that encourage language skills, friendships, fine motor development, and individual growth.
  • Understand the development of self-regulation in children aged 3-4 years as well as age-appropriate expectations for peer interactions.
  • Create a nurturing, responsive environment that promotes positive social and emotional development.
  • Observe children closely to determine possible causes of challenging behavior, implement preventive measures, and teach new social and communication skills in partnership with families.
  • Establish partnerships with families to promote positive interaction patterns in the program, school, and home.
  • Introduce Bible stories, Catholic teachings, Advent, and Lent, creating a faith-filled classroom environment.
  • Set potty training goals and assist students during diaper changes and potty training.
  • Communicate with parents daily and send weekly newsletters.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to navigate multiple stairs and playground surfaces.
  • Ability to sit on the floor and smaller chairs to work with children.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs daily.
  • Complete Protecting God's Children training and background check.
