Job summary

Independent School District 15 seeks a Substitute Educational Assistant in the Early Childhood Special Education program to support preschool students ages 3–5. The role works under the direction of licensed teachers to foster communication, social interaction, self-regulation and cognition.

Hours vary; classes run Monday-Thursday mornings and afternoons, with Friday mornings. PCA certification is required or provided; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Desire to work in a preschool setting with students with learning/behavior challenges.
• High School Diploma required; coursework in child development preferred.
• Must be PCA certified; certification provided if needed.
• Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills with adults and children.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision, instruction, and personal care of 3-5 year old children.
• Support students in achieving IEP goals under licensed teachers.
• Assist with hands-on activities and personal care functions as needed.
• Record data to monitor student activities and progress.
