Job summary

Alpine School District in Lehi, Utah is seeking a Special Education Para-Educator II for Pre School to support the instructional program under the direction of an assigned classroom teacher in a self-contained classroom.

The role includes assisting with IEP goals, adapting activities, supervising students, providing basic care, attending trainings, data collection, and maintaining materials and records. Hours are 6.25 per day, 25 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, at $17.67 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 18+ years old.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under supervision of the teacher.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Assists students with self-care activities.
• Attends meetings and in-service trainings.
• Attends job-specific trainings for the job function.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and implement IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by IEP team.
• Maintains instructional materials and records for availability and compliance.
• Monitors students during assigned periods in various school environments.
• Provides instruction in a variety of activities to reinforce objectives and IEP goals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
