Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a Special Education Para-Educator II to support the instructional program under a classroom teacher’s direction. Responsibilities include adapting activities, providing first aid, supporting student self-care, collecting data, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• 16+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities under the supervising teacher to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain hygiene.
• Attends job trainings for the purpose of improving functions.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Communicates with supervising staff to assist in evaluating progress and IEP objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by the IEP team under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials and records to ensure availability and compliance.
• Monitors students during various school periods to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Provides instruction in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations for ongoing development.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient functioning.
