Job summary

Needham Public Schools Preschool seeks a Preschool Special Education Teacher for a long-term substitute position anticipated to start in October, with a tentative end date in November. Start date TBD and work under the Preschool Director to maximize learning for students with special needs.

The role involves implementing district curriculum, recording progress, coordinating IEPs, and communicating with families in an integrated preschool setting. Massachusetts licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts licensure strongly preferred.
• Experience with 3–5 year olds with disabilities desired.
• Ability to collaborate with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Participates in team meetings and assists in developing IEPs.
• Implements IEPs and behavior plans with students.
• Coordinates with admins and service providers for each student.
• Serves as liaison between home and school and guides families.
• Maintains accurate records and progress reports.
• Encourages parental involvement in education.
• Supports orientation of new teaching assistants.
• Delivers direct instruction with accommodations.
