Spurwink is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Maine to lead classrooms and guide students with Autism and Developmental Disabilities toward success. You’ll develop individualized learning plans in a therapeutic, collaborative team and foster a culture of learning and respect.

Among the duties [expected of Spurwink Special Education Teachers] are planning and delivering instruction, implementing goals for Individual Education Plans and monitoring progress, coaching, providing behavior management aligned with an integrated therapeutic model, creating and maintaining a classroom culture that supports the therapeutic model, and providing oversight of Educational Technicians III assigned to their classrooms.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and Maine State certification as Teacher of Exceptional Students (282 Birth - 5 yrs) or be eligible for 282 certification. A letter of eligibility for 282 certification is required if less than professionally/provisionally certified.
