Job summary

Spurwink is seeking Ed. Tech. IIIs to work 1:1 with students in a therapeutic preschool program serving ages 3–5 with Autism and developmental challenges.

The role supports communication, social, emotional, cognitive, and self-help skills under a collaborative treatment approach with specialists. The full-time position spans the regular school year with a week-long orientation; schedule is 7:30am–3:30pm, and pay ranges $20.00–$24.00 per hour depending on experience and criteria.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum 90 college credits.
  • Eligible for Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work 1:1 with students diagnosed with Autism and Developmental Disorders in the preschool classroom setting.
  • Teach targeted skills in communication, social interaction, play, emotional regulation, self-help/adaptive and cognitive skills.
  • Implement educational and behavioral treatment plans throughout the school day.
  • Assist in tasks required to manage the classroom environment and promote student learning.
  • Collect and record data on progress and complete required paperwork to document services daily.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists around interventions and progress.
  • Participate in regular supervision and debriefing meetings.

Job description

We are a therapeutic preschool program that provides school-based services for children, ages 3-5, with Autism and complex developmental challenges. We are hiring Ed. Tech. IIIs to work 1:1 with students to implement plans that teach communication, social, emotional, cognitive, and self-help skills to children. Ed. Tech. IIIs work in collaboration with Special Education Teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists to support all aspects of children's development. Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) training is provided upon hire.

This is a full-time position spanning the regular school year. A week-long paid orientation training is provided upon hire.

The schedule is 7:30am - 3:30pm and this position pays between $20.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience and other job criteria.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Ed Tech III must have, or be eligible for, Maine Department of Education Educational Technician III certification by having earned a bachelor's degree (preferred) or by having earned a minimum of 90 college credits (required).
