Job summary

Servingschools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Pre-K Educational Technician to support a self-contained preschool classroom in Somerville School. The role focuses on 1:1 instructional and behavioral support for young learners with disabilities.

You will assist with IEPs, help develop communication and early learning skills, and support routines and transitions in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• CHRC & Ed Tech certification/authorization required by Maine.
• Experience with young children and/or students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and commitment to supporting all learners.
• Ability to assist students with physical needs, including lifting and mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 instructional and behavioral support to preschool students.
• Assist the classroom teacher and staff in implementing IEPs.
• Support development of communication, social, behavioral, and early learning skills.
• Assist with daily routines, transitions and activities in a self-contained preschool setting.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Collect data and document student progress as directed by teachers.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet student needs.
