Job summary

Soccer Shots is seeking a passionate part-time coach for preschool and young children in Portland, OR. You will bring the Soccer Island to life, conduct classes, set up and tear down fields, and model positive behaviors.

You will train with our curriculum, attend seasonal sessions, and help children develop confidence and love for the game, while enjoying a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement within the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool age children.
• Genuine passion for children and sports.
• Energetic, engaging, responsible and safety conscious.
• Ability to adapt to the needs of kids ages 2-8.
• Drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand, jog, and model children’s soccer skills.
• Coaches must have or obtain state-required background clearances.

Responsibilities

• Bring “Soccer Island” alive with your enthusiasm and creativity.
• Conduct soccer classes for children 2 to 8 years old, including field set-up and take-down.
• Encourage character development through positive reinforcement and modeling.
• Attend seasonal training sessions and mid-season refreshers at our clubhouse.
• Utilize expert-created Soccer Shots’ curriculum and early childhood development teaching techniques in every session.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
• Follow all on-site safety and attendance protocols.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, families, and teachers.
• Transport self and equipment to class location, setup and tear down field
