Job summary

Clover Park School District’s Hillside Elementary-JBLM in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, seeks a Para - Teacher Assistant (ECEAP). Starting immediately, the position is 6.5 hours/day, 191 days/year, with an hourly wage range of $27.25–$30.24.

Shift is 7:30am–3:30pm or 7:30am–11:15am on Wednesdays. The role supports a preschool teacher or instructor, helps implement daily programs, guides children, and participates in parent meetings and bus supervision.

Qualifications

• ECE certificate or degree, or CDA credential.
• One year of preschool/kindergarten experience with low-income families; AND
• High school diploma or equivalent and one of: passing state assessments, Associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits, or completed paraeducator apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated preschool teacher in daily educational programs.
• Support planning and implementing classroom activities including meals and group projects.
• Maintain classroom organization and materials for the planned program.
• Interact positively with children to support learning and emotional needs.
• Assist with recordkeeping and progress notes; participate in development of student plans.
• Attend training to maintain ECE knowledge and skills.
• Administer standardized screenings as directed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and parent meetings.
• May substitute for a classified preschool instructor when needed.
• Assist bus monitoring and student safety on Head Start buses.
