Job summary

The Elma School District is seeking applicants for the 2026-2027 Elma Preschool Preschool Nurse Technician (Temporary - dependent on enrollment). This assignment runs Monday through Thursday for 6.5 hours per day.

The district offers comprehensive benefits including sick and personal leave, DRS retirement, FSA/DCAP, and medical/dental/vision insurance; candidates must meet NCLB qualifications and pass a WSP/FBI background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Meets NCLB qualified requirements: either a two-year Associate degree with 72 quarter or 48 semester credits, or a passing ParaPro score.
• WSP/FBI background clearance (employee-paid).
• Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs. in two-person lift/transfer.
• Must participate in Fundamental Course Training.
• Regular attendance is essential for this position.
• Safety and health of students are essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Work with medically fragile preschool students.
• Monitor students on buses to/from school.
• Assist with hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Collaborate with the school nurse and family to implement the care plan.
• Adhere to HIPAA.

EESP Salary Schedule Rate Range:

• $27.82 - $31.98 per hour

Assignment:

• Mon - Thurs; 6.5 hours per day

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Meets NCLB definition of highly qualified requirements:
• A two-year Associate degree
• 72-quarter or 48-semester college credits, or
• A passing score of 455 on the ETS Para Pro Assessment
• WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
• Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs. in two-person lift/transfer
• Positive and flexible attitude with students, staff, parents, and team members
• Must participate in the Fundamental Course Training to gain the necessary skills to perform this position
• Willingness to work toward successful demonstration of core competenciesDemonstrated competence in basic academic/communication skills appropriate to site assignment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with special need students and medically fragile students
• Work as a team player
• Experience working as a CNA
• Experience working as a health assistant

Responsibilities:

• Work with medical fragile student in preschool setting.
• Monitor student while riding bus to and from school.
• Assist student with hygiene (toileting, dressing), feeding, and mobility
• Maintain a safe, clean environment
• Work closely with the school nurse, preschool team and family to ensure proper implementation of the care plan
• Adhere to HIPAA
• Observation and monitoring of the student, taking and recording vitals
