Job summary

Elma School District is seeking a Paraeducator for ALE programs to support GED testing, tutoring, and planning activities. You will assist instructors, help with lessons and materials, and promote a safe, respectful classroom environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and preferred credentials such as an Associate degree or ParaPro assessment. Excellent attendance and confidentiality are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two-year Associate degree or 72-quarter/48-semester credits or ParaPro passing score.
• Background clearance required; fingerprint check covered by employee.
• Regular attendance and safety of students are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist ALE instructors in GED testing, test proctoring, and learning plans.
• Support classroom discipline and behavioral management per school policies.
• Help manage materials, equipment, and tools with safety protocols.
• Monitor student behavior and intervene to maintain a supportive environment.
• Provide instructor feedback on student performance and challenges.
• Assist in facilitating student-led conferences and postsecondary opportunities.

• $25.23 - $28.98 per hour
• Will be updated per EESP CBA Salary Schedule 2026-2027

Assignment:

• Mon – Fri; 6.5 hours per day

Required Qualifications:

• A two-year Associate degree

Responsibilities:

Work with the ALE programs of Elma School District. Duties include, but not limited to:

• Assist ALE instructors in supporting students with GED testing, test proctoring, and learning plans.
• Assist with maintaining classroom discipline, promoting respect, and addressing any behavioral concerns in line with school policies and procedures.
• Help manage materials, equipment, and classroom tools, ensuring safety protocols are followed, particularly during hands‑on technical or vocational tasks.
• Monitor student behavior and intervene when necessary, following appropriate protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Provide feedback to the instructor about student performance, behavior, and any challenges that may need additional attention.
• Assist in facilitating student‑led conferences, workshops, or events designed to increase awareness of postsecondary opportunities.
