Job summary

City of Commerce City is seeking a Preschool Leader to plan and implement fun, educational activities for children aged 2–6. You will work under the guidance of our Recreation Coordinator and Preschool Director to foster growth in a nurturing setting.

Hiring salary depends on experience; the posted range is $17.06–$20.11 per hour. A background check and fingerprints are required, with CPR/First Aid and Standard Precautions credentials preferred or obtainable within the stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess CPR/First Aid certificates or be able to obtain them within 10 days of hire date.
• Must possess Standard Precautions certificate or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• Bilingual in Spanish desired.
• Background check and fingerprinting are required.
• Requires valid driver’s license and ability to operate various automobiles, including 14-passenger vans.
• CDL not required for this position.
• Leader I requires 3 months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children under six years.
• Leader II requires 2 years college and 910 hours of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children under six years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement fun and educational activities for preschool-aged children (2–6 years).
• Assist under supervision of Recreation Coordinator and Preschool Director.
• Contribute to a supportive and engaging learning environment.
• Meet background check and credentialing requirements as part of hiring process.
