Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston seeks a Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum under the Site Director. You will document progress, communicate with families, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom that supports growth, social skills, and school readiness.

Strong leadership will guide a collaborative team. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, EEC certification, and CPR/First Aid within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• First Aid and CPR certified within 6 months of employment.
• Excellent skills in working with families, conflict resolution, and community relations.
• Knowledge of group process and ability to contribute to a positive team dynamic.

Responsibilities

• Keeps safety of children as a first priority and supports emotional well-being.
• Uses positive behavior guidance and supports colleagues in applying it.
• Maintains a professional, efficient, nurturing classroom environment.
• Supervises children to ensure safety and smooth transitions.
• Participates in training and staff meetings; aligns with EEC/YMCA guidelines.
